Defaced Portrait of Sadaam Hussein, Northern Iraq

This portrait of Sadaam Hussein stood alongside the highway in the city of Tuz Kamat, Iraq. It was made of ceramic tile, and stood about six feet high. It’s not clear who defaced the portrait, but it’s more likely that the person was a Christian, or wanted to use modern Christian iconography in representing Hussein. There are no references in the Koran that portray “the devil” as having horns, or pointy ears, a goatee, etc.
In the Koran, there are only one visual metaphor (that I’ve been able to find) for the devil: ‘the devil as a serpent.’ I suspect that either Christian Kurds defaced the portrait, or U.S. troops did.
